"The Yellow Fruit"


  • Primofiori: From October 1st to April 30st. Also called fine by its thin and smooth bark. Its shape is spherical to oval. It has a lot of juice and delicate acidity.

  • Verna: From May 1st to September 30th. Its shape is elongated and its skin more abrupt and thick. Intense yellow color. It has almost no seeds and has a relatively low level of acidity.

  • Eureka: From June 1st to September 30st. The fruit is of medium size, is a seedless variety and with a lot of juice, the bark is of medium thickness.


The first substantial cultivation of lemons in Europe began in Genoa in the middle of the 15th century.

The lemon was later introduced to the Americas in 1493 when Christopher Columbus brought lemon seeds to Hispaniola on his voyages.

Spanish conquest throughout the New World helped spread lemon seeds. It was mainly used as an ornamental plant and for medicine.
